Rood Screen – Newspaper article (Church Times, 1898) E. Sedding architect; 1899

In December 1898 Edmund H. Sedding was commissioned to carry out restoration work on the fine C15th rood screen at Berry Pomeroy, which was suffering from dry rot. A plan of sections of the screen is held at DHC (1626B/P/3) and there is a possibility that the necessary recarving of rotten pieces of screen was carried out by Rashleigh, Pinwill & Co., although there is as yet no confirmation.
